My pool is fixed!

Yay! Mom finally fixed my pool.She put duct tape over all the holes I had made with my antler sharpened teeth!  She filled it with cool water and I was all excited until-SHE stuck HER feet in it! How rude! I jumped in my pool and ran around gulping down the nice cool water.

I did feel better after being in the water. Then I jumped out and rolled all over the grass and ate some too as I was feeling hungry. Mom then played a very mean game on me. She had part of one of my big cookies and she held it out to me, but over the pool! Then she stuck it on her foot so that I would have to go into the pool to get it.! NOT FAIR! I barked at her cause she was being so mean.

I really wanted that cookie! Eventually I jumped in the pool-I am a slave to my belly!

Chock full of energy!

This morning , thanks to that wonderful invention-air conditioning-I woke up chock full of energy! As soon as Dad let me out of my crate, I grabbed my toy and ran around like a crazy dog. The bad part was that I couldn't get out of the room! I really need handles to be lower down on doors! Finally Mom came in from the shower and I zipped through her legs and escaped! I ran into AT's room and knocked a fan over (that was scary) so I ran back to Mom and Dad.

Sprawling

Mom says that I am the laziest dog in the world. She was home with me yesterday and she said that all I did was imitate a bear skin rug. That is not true. I moved. I sprawled behind the couch, under the table, by Mom's feet and finally jumped up on the couch so that Mom could scratch my belly while I sprawled in my favorite position-on my back, legs in the air, head off the couch!

4th of July fun!

Today my Grandpa and Alec came over! I got to play outside with Alec and AT and even though it was really hot, I had fun!

We played soccer and Alec said that I was a great goalie!

Mom made me come inside cause it was hot. Later I was sitting by the kitchen door crying cause I wanted to be outside with Dad, AT and Alec. Mom made the mistake of letting me out. They were playing bocce and I grabbed the tiny white ball and ran around with it. Dad was upset cause he was afraid I might swallow it and choke. Finally Alec (who is almost as good a Mecki wrangler as AT) caught me.

Less walking more lounging

Mom has gotten better since it's been so hot. I think that she has given up on getting any exercise with me as she does not drag me on long hot walks.  Last night I was completely happy just lying on the rug chewing on my antler. There were a lot of loud noises outside but they didn't bother me cause they were outside. Then she made me go out for my last walk. I didn't want that last walk but she made me. The noises were much louder outside and I just wanted to go back inside.

Too hot to move

I think this is the hottest summer ever! I'm slightly sorry that I chewed a hole in my pool now, cause Mom hasn't fixed it yet. So far Mom has left the air conditioner in the kitchen on for me so at least I can sprawl sadly on the floor and be somewhat cool. The worst is that Mom keeps trying to take me for a walk! Yesterday I was dragged out the door into the heat. I dawdled behind Mom but she kept pulling me forward and not letting me flop down on the grass. I was very sad. Then suddenly I saw the Man that lives down the block! I love him cause he always gives me belly rubs and is always happy to see me! I started running down the block, pulling Mom behind me. She had no idea why I was running. She thought it was due to the fact that I like to bark at the dog that lives in the last house on the block-but usually I only start running one house before that house. Finally we got to my friend and he was happy to see me (of course!). After that we went home and I collapsed in a soggy heap.

2 Mecki's are better than 1

Dad is always talking about getting another dog, so Mom took a picture of two of me! She said he can look at that when he wants another dog.

Yesterday was awesome cause I got to see my Grandpa and Alec! And my Grandma! Not all at once though, that would have been too confusing! I did spend a lot of time jumping around and barking with excitement. Sadly they all eventually left. But then I still had AT and Dad, oh and Mom. Dad was watching a sad movie-Lassie Come Home, so I had to comfort him. Mom took some pictures.
