Last post for a while

This morning Dad was up and gone before I even got out of my crate. I blame Mom for being so slow! When we went out for our walk, I smelled Dad and tracked his path from the front door, to the driveway and back to his car. We went inside and Mom gave me breakfast. I decided to make her last day with me (before vacation) memorable so I barked and snapped at her. Then suddenly, there were  whole bunch of people around! I could hear people upstairs. I barked and barked but Mom and Dad didn't care. Mom is leaving for vacation, so there won't be any posts for a while, unless Dad decides to help me. I'm looking forward to lots and lots of Dad time!!!!

The Best Smell Ever

Mom took me out for a walk and we went up and down the street. I ate some acorns and then all of a sudden I smelled the best smell ever! So I tracked it down the sidewalk. It smelled so good that I had to bark and yodel as I pulled Mom along. Mom was amused cause I was tracking myself!

Hansel

Last night Mom gave me my food, but then she went out. I don't like to eat alone. I ignored my food and took a nap. When Mom and Dad came home, they saw my food. Mom came to sit in the kitchen with me. I was so excited that I jumped right into my food bowl. Kibble went everywhere! I ran around following the trail of kibble and Mom said I looked like Hansel.
This morning I barked and snapped at Mom so she left me alone in the kitchen until I calmed down.

Calm before the storm

Today when Mom came home after work, I decided to be nice to her. We went for a walk and then she came and sat on the floor in the kitchen with me and I snuggled up to her and chewed on her watchband. Then we played with some of my toys. I haven't decided whether or not to be rude later on.

A new day

Mom said she had high hopes for today. She said that I've been a naughty dog this whole weekend and that I had better start being nicer to her. This morning when I ran out of my crate, I grabbed my favorite toy-Dad's rolled up socks- and made Mom chase me around. She seemed a little grumpy when she caught me. We went for a walk and then I ignored my breakfast. She came back in and sat with me for a while but then I started biting and barking at her-so she threw a paper towel at me to distract me! It worked-and she left the kitchen. Dad came home at lunch and gave me a great treat! A carrot dipped in peanut butter! I was on my best behavior for that! Dad said "Come" and I trotted right over. Dad said "Sit" and my bottom hit the floor!

Bad to the bone

Last night I was in a bad mood. Mom made me go on a really long walk and Dad wasn't home. So I barked and nipped and snapped at Mom. She put me upstairs but I still barked! Finally she brought me down and kept me on a leash in the living room so that I would calm down.
This morning it was pouring rain and Mom took me out for a walk. Then she put me in the kitchen with my food. Instead of eating my food, I chewed through the harnass that Auntie Carol gave me. Mom said that maybe Dad could fix it and that I was a very naughty dog!

the longest walk

Mom and I just got back from a really long walk. We walked for 1 hour! My little legs are pretty tired. We started on one of our normal walks but then we saw the mean lady with the mean little black dog. He always barks at me in an angry way. I didn't want to walk by him but Mom made me and of course he barked at me. We kept walking for a couple of blocks then turned down one to go home. All of a sudden we saw that lady and the dog again so Mom turned up a block-that's what made our walk so long. We didn't run into her again. While we were walking down our street, Chloe, who always gets loose, came running across the street at me. Her family ran and got her. Then we passed by Mollie's house and Mom let me go and say hi. Mollie's mom let her out and she ran in circles around me. Then Mom said we have to leave. I was glad to get into the kitchen and drink some water.

On the trail

This morning when Mom took me for a walk I smelled somesthing really really good! I don't know what it was , but I tracked it all the way down our block and across the street. I even bayed as I pulled Mom and snuffled the ground.  I lost it on the other side of the street but maybe it will come back and leave another trail later!

#3

Last night before I went to bed, Dad and I discussed our latest joke to play on Mom. Dad came up to bed at 1:30 which woke Mom up. She went to AT's room to write herself a note about something she had to do when she got up. While she was gone, Dad let me out of my crate and brought me up on the bed. I lay there being very quiet and still. Mom came back in and lay down in bed and I pounced on her! She just sighed. Then I went back to snuggling with Dad cause he's my favorite. Dad put me back in my crate and I whined for a while to show my disapproval.

Mom said that I should ask the people who read my blog a question. She's going away somewhere (which will give me tons alone time with DAD!) So she won't be able to help me type my blog. She said that Dad should help me write about my escapades, but  he doesn't want to. I think it's cause he doesn't type as fast as Mom. Let me know if you want to hear what I do while Mom is gone, or if you want to wait for Mom to come back and help me.

Here are some quick videos of me attacking my food bowl.

All's quiet

Today Dad and I layed low and didn't play any jokes on Mom. Mom got home and we went for a walk. I did my usual lying down rolling on the grass and not getting up, so that Mom has to pick me up, put me on my feet and quickly start walking before I can lie down again. Mom saw Dad go by in his car so we turned around to walk home. A block before our house she made the mistake of asking "Where's Dad?" I broke into a run and pulled Mom home to find my beloved Dad.

Joke number 2!

Dad and I are on a roll today! We got Mom with another joke when she came home! Mom came into the kitchen ready to take me out for a walk in the rain. When she came in, she saw that the kitchen gate was flat on the floor and she thought that I had escaped into the living room. So she ran around the living room, the bathroom, the guestroom and the dining room-looking for ME. But she couldn't find me anywhere! Then she ran to look upstairs cause she thought that maybe I had climbed the steps. But she still couldn't find me. Then Dad called her on the phone. Mom asked him if he knew where I was. Dad laughed and said he is outside with me. We put the gate down to make you think I had escaped!

A Good Joke

Early this morning Dad and I played a really good trick on Mom. Dad came up to bed after midnight. When he came in, Mom got up to get a drink of water. While she was out of the room, Dad opened my crate door to pet me. But then he told me what we were going to do and ...he didn't close the door! I ran out of my crate and got into  position while Mom was still out. When she came back in and closed the door, I crept up behind her and stuck my cold wet nose on her leg. Mom froze and called Dad. Then I licked her leg. Mom relaxed and said, "I think the dog is out! How did he do that! I checked his door when I put him in!" Dad and I just laughed. When Mom went to turn the light on , I growled my best come and get me growl and grabbed a rolled up pair of Dad's socks. Mom turned on the light and looked at Dad and asked him if he had let me out. Dad said yes and got up to chase me around. It was lots of fun until he stuck me back in my crate. I didn't want to sleep. I wanted to play some more. So I lay in my crate and did my sad, whavering sighs to aggravate everyone.

Cooling off

Today when Mom came home to walk I didn't want to go outside. It was too hot. So when she made me walk, I found some nice cool grass to lie down on and roll around on. I refused to get up and Mom had to pick me up and set me on my feet, then quickly walk so that I couldn't lie down again. Later on, she played with me and my rope toy. But I wanted to keep playing and she wouldn't so I barked and nipped at her. Dad got on all fours and chased me into the kitchen. Then he hid and jumped out at me when I came near the door. I didn't like that at all!

The Big Bang

Dad went out to get some ices. They smelled really good and I sat there and barked at Dad and Mom but they wouldn't give me any. When Dad was done, he took the paper bag they came in and blew it up like a big balloon. I think he wanted to scare me. Mom said he was being mean. He made the bag pop with a big bang, but I didn't even jump. Mom laughed cause his trick had failed.

Dad in the morning

Today was great! Dad got up in the morning and brought me downstairs. We went for a walk and he fed me and it was great! When we went for our walk, the sprinklers were on so I went to investigate. Then minute I walked over to the sprinkler it turned around and attacked me by spraying me in the face!! I was not amused but Dad was. Later I got to spend time with Mom in the living room. Then Mr. B came over and petted me!

All by myself

Yesterday was the saddest day ever! I was all alone. Mom brought me downstairs in the morning, I got to see Dad briefly and then they left me all alone. I howled for a while to show how hurt I was. It was a long, long day. Then all of a sudden, Mom and Dad were back! I hopped around in excitement! I jumped up to lick Dad but he didn't want me jumping on him. I went to lick Mom's legs, but they weren't her legs! She was wearing something that covered her legs but you could still see her legs and it did not taste very good. They took me for a walk and gave me some food to eat but I wasn't hungry. I just wanted to play with them-so I sat by the gate and whined in my soft and sad way. They ignored me and left again! Even worse was that they did not turn on a light for me in the kitchen. So when it got dark outside, it got dark inside too. I lay on the floor and waited. Finally after a long, long time, Mom and Dad came back! But we still didn't get to play! Dad took me for a walk and then stuck me upstairs in my crate-without even a treat! This morning was a little better. Mom played with me in the kitchen. But they still owe me a LOT of play and snuggling time!

10 minutes

My new toy! AT bought me this canteen to play with before he left. Dad decided to give it to me last night at 8:30pm because I had eaten my rope toy. Mom and Dad made a bet about how long it would last. Dad said it would last until today because I would be going to bed in an hour. Mom just laughed. At 8:40pm this is what it looked like. I think I broke my own personal best record!
I also pulled out all the tasty white stuffing!

Obviously I'm here to amuse Mom

Mom and I just got back from a short walk. It is too hot to go for a long one. Mom put me in the kitchen and gave me a bowl of ice cubes. I licked one and it stuck to my beard. So I lay there with the ice cube hanging. Mom looked at me and laughed. I swung my head around and finally  the ice cube fell off-so I ate it to punish it for it's impudence. Then Mom gave me some baby carrots which I toss around the kitchen to tenderize before eating.

The Great Escape!-Part 1

Last night I finally go to put all my planning and plotting to work! Mom brought me upstairs and put me in my crate. I noticed that she did not jiggle my crate door to check it, and I had to stop myself from bouncing around in my crate with excitement. I waited for Mom to fall asleep which didn't take long. Then! The moment I'd been waiting for! I threw myself (quietly) against the crate door until it popped open and then I carefully crept out. FREEDOM! What to do first I pondered. I snuck around the bed and sniffed for something good to chew on. I found one of Dad's sock and chewed on that for a while, then I threw caution to the wind and ran madly around the room. Unfortunately, I made some noise and Mom woke up. She lay there for a while trying to figure out what the noise was and where it was coming from. Oh no! I realized that I had forgotten to shut the crate door back up.  Mom rolled over and felt the front of the crate and realized the door was open. Now she knew I had escaped. I didn't move a muscle until she got out of bed and went to turn the light on. Then I grabbed her flip flop and ran for the safety of the closet. She cornered me in the closet and put me in front of my crate.  I didn't want to go back in, but she made me! Then Dad came in the room. Mom was laughing when she told him of my great escape. I was mad that I was back in my crate, so I just lay there and grumbled and plotted my next escape.
